Welcome to Lightfoot Wheels & Engineering. Lightfoot is all about wire wheel restoration, rebuilding and associated component restoration with an emphasis on high quality product and workmanship. The website contains years of accumulated knowledge and references to my in-house services, which include: Wheel building, Spoke making, Rim drilling, Rim dimpling, Lathe machining, Milling, Surface grinding, Drilling, Bead blasting, Cleaning, Polishing, Tyre fitting and associated mechanical work.
Lightfoot can supply Rims, Spokes, Complete Wheels, Tyres and Tubes. I also arrange and oversee Stripping, Painting, Powdercoating, Hydroblasting, Shot-peening, Chrome plating, Zinc plating, Metal polishing and making or supplying special parts.

I promised you a photograph of my 1956 Honda SA250 Dream. These were taken last weekend in Tamworth, NSW, during the Vintage Japanese Motorcycle Club National Rally. The Honda won four trophies - Oldest Motorcycle, Most Desirable Motorcycle, Concourse Best Honda, and the major trophy - Concourse Best Restoration. I am really pleased with how the Honda looks in the red colour. This is one of only three outside of Japan. Thank you for helping me with both wheels for the restoration.

Suppliers
I use only the best quality components when building or restoring your wheels therefore you can be assured of the performance and longivity of your machine for years to come. Basically, if I won’t fit it to my own bikes, I am not keen to fit it to yours. We use and recommend the following quality suppliers. For rims we use Takasago Excel Alloy Rims, Devon Rim Co, Union Rims, Vintage Rims NZ, Morad, CWC, SM Pro amongst others. For spoke brands my preference is Euro spoke, CWC and Buchanan.
